Our Curriculum

Get to Know Our Team
Our instructors are passionate about the craft and sharing their knowledge with others. Together, they are committed to creating a safe and supportive learning environment where barbers from all backgrounds, experience levels, and ability can learn and grow.
Oakland Barber Academy Founder, Christopher Colter, initially developed his skills in barbering during his time in the army. After graduating from Howard University and serving as a Platoon leader, he earned his barbers license at Bayview Barber College in 2005. For the last twenty years he has served the Bay Area community as a barber and takes pride in helping the next generation of barber's hone their craft.
With over 15 years of barber experience, Ucal graduated from Oakland Barber Academy in 2024 and now serves as an instructor. He shares his expertise with aspiring barbers and gives back to the community through partnerships with O.U.S.D. and local groups, providing services at events and fairs.
